New Teams App being used for Shared Emails?

Copper Contributor

Hi Team,

We've noticed in the Public Preview client when an email has been shared to Teams from Outlook using the "Share to Teams" button, Public Preview users cannot download the message from the Teams Chat.

Error: "Something went wrong. Make sure you've successfully added the app."

We have a restrictive App Permission Policy in place which is likely causing it. What is the App we need to allow?

Thanks,

[Apologies in advance if I missed a previous communication]

@CarlDavis I'm getting the same error in the Teams app v1.6.00.1159 (a preview version) on macOS.  I previously shared an email via the macOS Outlook desktop app in a Teams group chat, and when I went back to open the email in my own post, it gave this error at the bottom of the post:

In the Teams web client, the email opened fine, and if revert my Teams desktop client back to the production version, the email also opens fine, so it seems to be a Teams desktop client issue.

We do not have a restrictive App Permission Policy in place, and I'm the admin for my tenant and haven't seen any requests for an app, so I suspect this is a bug in the Teams client Preview version masquerading as an app issue.

Same Issue in my org, No fixes at all it looks like? complete reinstall, out of Dev Preview, same thing.
anyone found a fix for this? Same behavior in desktop and web, still works fine on mobile (Android) for me though. Coupled with this is persistent stuck in Dev Preview even though Teams and general 365 policies restrict this for all users and unchecking the About>Dev Preview only works temporarily and is re-checked again the next time you look.
Still going on here, unfortunately. Seems almost random: my account acts differently on different computers with the desktop app and the web app, sometimes able to open Shared Emails, sometimes failing with that error, appearing in and out of Developer Preview mode. Very intermittent and very strange, definitely a persistent Microsoft bug.
I'm also having the same issue. It started happening after the recent channel post update where new posts were appearing at the top. Microsoft please fix this issue
