  • jallen64 In Teams Communities there's a translate option for each post in the community:

We are also exploring options how to make this more automatic.

MiikkaOksanen, I like that article and it is something we would like to offer, but not being able to connect with a work/school account is a no-go for us. I don't want staff to create or use a personal account for this. Maybe, if and when it is offered, we may reconsider, if we haven't gone another route. I'd also like to find out more on how the translation works with Teams Communities.

  • jallen64 Thanks for your feedback!

We have heard similar feedback from others as well, and we are exploring the scenarios in this space. Like you pointed out, today you need to use a personal account to create a community for parents, alumni, volunteers and others. This will be a bit less of an issue soon when the new Teams app starts supporting both work and personal accounts, enabling you to have them side-by-side in the same app, but still separate.

There's also a quite recent blog post about this scenario:

MiikkaOksanen, would love to see the ability to sign into Teams Communities with Work/School accounts and to create communities for external users. As a part of a high school, I could see creating a Teams Community with parents, alums, volunteers and other external people using many of these new features without having myself or other staff members creating a Teams Community with their personal accounts. I hope Microsoft considers this.
