Announcing Microsoft Teams

Today, at an event in New York City, we announced Microsoft Teams—the new chat-based workspace in Office 365. Microsoft Teams is an entirely new experience that brings together people, conversations and content—along with the tools that teams need—so they can easily collaborate to achieve more. It’s naturally integrated with the familiar Office applications and is built from the ground up on the Office 365 global, secure cloud. Starting today, Microsoft Teams is available in preview in 181 countries and in 18 languages to commercial customers with Office 365 Enterprise or Business plans, with general availability expected in the first quarter of 2017.

Ready more about it on the Office blog, here.

Its good to see Microsoft Teams been made widely available in preview, rather than via exclusive sign up. We have been using it as one of the early customers. I'm looking forward to hearing what others think.

Keep checking your Admin Portal for Microsoft Teams preview to activate it. Admin portal > Settings > Services and Add-ins > Microsoft Teams

Have enabled it on the dev office 365 tenant (Admin portal > Settings > Services and Add-ins > Microsoft Teams) but no app tile appears to access teams?

I too have enabled Teams through the admin portal, but see no tile or ability to configure teams under Group settings. I've tried all of the usual steps; logging out and in, clearing cache, etc. Is this a progressive roll-out?
