Hi Amit,
An app can be many things, but it usually involved a bot, dynamic cards, a custom app on the left rail that you can converse with etc.

A Connector is simply a subscription to an external service. Such as RSS feed, or polling on a timed basis to pull new posts or information into a channel.

Hope this helps!
I normally teach that connectors bring information IN TO Teams for visibility and action. Apps can do that and many other things per the article above.
Would recommend working through the course on EDX enabling Teamwork with Microsoft Teams which is an excellent introduction to Teams and will teach you all of the differences between connectors, apps and bots and many other things. https://www.edx.org/course/enabling-teamwork-microsoft-teams-3 @Karuana Gatimu is featured in this! Having completed the course I must say it was really worthwhile.
