Teams on iOS

We see updates every week, but there are several items on the mobile front that make this substandard to even Skype 4 business. What is the roadmap on the following?:

  1. Ability to call someone from teams and then dial a PSTN number to join you on the call
  2. Integration for inbound calls to my contacts address book? This is in Skype. I ignore calls I do not recognize (most of them).
  3. Tap to dial. Tap a phone number in an email or website and choose "Call from Skype" should allow Teams
  4. Add a meeting - this is 101 stuff and surprised after 1.5 years, mobile cannot create a meeting
  5. Siri integration - Allow me to say "Hey siri - teams message john doe hello"

Great inquires! I would like to know more about these items as well.

Thanks for the questions, Fred.

1. This should currently be working on mobile clients.
2. No plans currently.
3. This is under consideration.
4. This is coming in Q4.
5. Siri integration is under consideration. No ETA.

1. Does not work. If I dial someone's cell from Teams. I do not have the option to dial another person (traditional 3-way calling). This only is available if everyone is a Teams person... not PSTN. Please help me if I am wrong, but I do not see a way. I can only transfer a PSTN number or place it on Hold.

2. That is devastating. A MUST HAVE. This was/is a huge advantage of Skype 4B. Why no plans? Funny enough, If I call someone from my addressbook, and they call me back, Caller ID functions with their name. That is, until I close the app and it just shows a general number in the history. Where previously it showed who it was.

3.) Thanks - nice to have

4.) Okay, seems like a long time to wait. Glad to hear it will come some day.

5.) Nice to have. Thanks!

As a note, I keep hearing "this should work" but it does not. Please post instructions for me to share with folks.

Lastly, please don't have folks from Microsoft publicly state that we are now feature parity with Skype, when these mobile items are still missing!  :)

I checked Teams uservoice. There are a lot of folks who want/need contact integration. It seems like they are scattered throughout with no consolidated post to gather enough numbers to be noticed.

Yes, it is a huge miss and to say - "no plans" is very disappointing. This was a selling point for Skype over other VoIP offerings. Especially since this is already working on Skype...

Can someone from Microsoft at least consolidate these into one feedback item?

Wow that tap to dial feature would be nice, I hadn't considered that before.

Yes, and it is available on Skype for Business.

Here are the instructions for adding a PSTN number to an ongoing Teams call:

1. Tap "Add participants" button at the top right corner of the app.

2. Search for a contact or type the PSTN number to add to the call.

Regarding the contact book inquiry, I checked with the team owning this area. They are considering this feature but it is not in their backlog currently.

Thanks for the follow up! I will test.

On the contact book, it is interesting how it works on someone I called via contact book, that is until I close the app. Almost like it is a bug that should just work.

I get an error trying to add another call (screenshot)

That add caller option only shows up when I call a Teams person, not a PSTN number...

I passed this feedback to the calling team. We will follow up to see if there is a bug.

Thanks!

Also - I have opened a ticket with support on the issue with 1:1 PSTN call escalation. However, I think this may be more than just my tenant with this issue. If you call someone's cell, are you able to add another caller on your mobile device?

I raised the same question on #2 earlier today and was told it was in the works, but no ETA. However if it is not, we will not be migrating to Teams at all. Missing that one feature alone is enough to make us consider moving to a totally different collaboration, phone and messaging platform that is cheaper.

I hear you on that one.

@Robert Gates can you weigh in on contacts and address book? It seems either @Bugra Oktay (BOO-RAH) is wrong, or something. Both on this item and 1:1 group call escalation

Microsoft support said group call is not out yet - They referred me to the O365 Roadmap that says "in development" :

I would like to believe the PM knows best.

@Robert Gates, @Fred Franks, @Scott Souther there was a miscommunication on my part (@Bugra Oktay (BOO-RAH) and I were talking on a separate thread and I misunderstood the questions).

@Fred Franks asked about:

Integration for inbound calls to my contacts address book? This is in Skype. I ignore calls I do not recognize.

This has been working but was disabled due to Apple library crash. We are currently working on restoring this functionality, and hopefully the new version of iOS will fix the crash as well. Regardless, this should work on Android with no issues.

@Fred Franks asked about:

Ability to call someone from teams and then dial a PSTN number to join you on the call

This is working for a 3-way call if one of the call is VOIP. I call Frank on Teams, then we add Robert through PSTN. However, it doesn't currently work if both calls are PSTN enabled. This is a widely-requested feature and we are working on enabling this as well and it should be available soon (Q4).

I apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding.

Agreed. Microsoft has been making the push for Teams adoption and integration of the S4B features, yet so many things are just glaring oversights. With regard to Cloud PBX features, this entire AMA has been a disappointment of non-answers and signals of being tone deaf to the community.

Highlighted

Agreed that Caller ID is a MUST. It blows my mind that this feature is not included.
