Team Archiving

Is there a mechanism for archiving team spaces when they are no longer needed? This would be important as part of a document retention or  enterprise discovery conversation

In my opinion this is a critical feature to make Teams a success for Project based work.

From my perspective, you want to be able to create your Teams 'on the fly' with a specific project in mind - but then you don't want all the Completed Teams/Project information to clutter your 'live' workspace.

I would be very interested in this as well. if there is a split in search where by you can optoto search current projects or retired projects, that would be ideal.

We work in a high volume project environment. We're very happy with the ability to create Channels and use them in Teams. But once a project completes we need to clear it from view, or we get swamped by Channels (many Teams, with multiple Channels for each). We definitely don't want to lose the content of those Channels, so archiving is going to be a big deal for our organization. Thanks.

Could we please have an update as to when Microsoft will be implementing the page Archive feature in Teams.

Information archiving is an important business process.

We are using one channel per project. This is obviously not scaleable.

At least moving channels to an archive "channel" would be useful in the short term.

We need this feature, too. We also need to create electronic records of the channel history (store as HTML, PDF or similar.

Our organization also needs to keep the content and intellectual properterty generated during projects.  Moving and archiving files is easy, but moving conversations and the record of HOW we were able to finish the project is necessary for us too.

Add me to the list of users wanting archiving on teams and channels. I found this thread because I was Googling how to archive - it turns out you can't do it yet. I would consider it a basic feature and I hope to see it soon. Thanks for reading!

We need to journal all Microsoft Teams chats and other messages to Global Relay or Smarsh. We already journal our Exchange messages and we need to do the same for Microsoft Teams before we can deploy it to our users. This is a compliance requirement. Would you be able to implement that?

It's well past time to get this activated. Our company can't wait much longer before we begin initiating trials on other collaboration products from other vendors.

We really need a feature like this too, so we can hide our yearly conference groups but have them accessible for reference.

Hi,

I am following up on this discussion to see if there was any progress made.  We would love to see an archive option for Teams, Channels, and Conversations.  It looks like the last Microsoft update was November of 2016.  Any information would be appreciated!

Some sort of archiving feature will be really important to our company as well. We're primarily using "channels" for projects right now & I suppose we can add/remove from "favorites".

Please keep me updated on the status of this issue.
