Re: Welcome to the Microsoft Teams AMA!

I run a start-up (Lapa Lopa) that uses Teams for all meetings and conversations, including all of our external developers.  This includes using Teams as our phone system.  When will Teams finally be a stand-alone that no longer requires Skype for Business to receive phone calls?

Hey Howard!  So right now end users can absolutely make and receive phone calls without using Skype for Business.  On the admin side though we do still require tenant admins to configure the Phone System and Calling Plans using the legacy Skype for Business admin center.

That being said, we are _actively_ working to bring this capability into the Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com) and improve the experience at the same time to make it faster and easier to manage & administer.  Unfortunately we don't have a timeframe to provide at this point.

Thanks!
