Microsoft Teams: SharePoint Home Site App

New Contributor

When can we expect "Microsoft Teams: SharePoint home site app", Feature ID: 66584, to rollout?

"With the new home site app, you can bring your intranet directly into Teams. The app’s icon and name match your company brand and enable employees to discover, navigate and consume your top sites in Teams. The home site app gives employees a window into the rest of the company intranet by using the same global navigation as the SharePoint app bar."

Hi Eddie. The Home app is being integrated into Viva Connections which will be available later this year. You can currently embed any SharePoint site in an app template and integrate it into Teams. You can use our example from Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways to see the simple string to do it. Find that via htttps:// page.
Will Viva Connections be an add-on license though? I think I'm still a tad confused about how that's going to roll out.
There are basic capabilities that will be included with E3 licenses and above for Microsoft Viva. More advanced knowledge management will be additional licensing but I will triple check where that starts for you. But to utilize Viva Connections to put your home intranet site inside of Microsoft Teams and utilize the cool fly out menu that will be included in your current licensing.
@Karuana what is "later this year". We are working on a new intranet and aim on bigger user adoption. The home site is ready and it would be great to use the Home Site app in Teams.
Can't find any good documentation on how to do that without losing the home site navigation.
Viva connections appears to be the solution. But it's very unclear how we should use it to have this solution and most of all WHEN will it be available?
