i am sure i can speak for a lot of people trying to adopt teams, this feature will be a deal breaker.
I adopted fully to teams when i read that this feature was upcoming and now Microsoft has reneged.
How can you claim feature parity with SFB when this is not implemented?
How can i or others limit use of Skype Personal when no alternative exists?

I too am interested if there are any official word from Microsoft on the ineterop between Consumer Skype accounts and Microsoft Teams. All of my tenant is currently on Islands mode for now but I've made the jump over to Teams Only so I can start documenting any issues before transitioning users to Teams only but the first hurdle is how do we as a company communicate with Consumer Skype users going forward? Skype for business was slow to adopt the interop between consumer and S4B but eventually we were able to communicate.
One other issue that I have came across is that we would like Private channels which has been on the uservoice for sometime, I really hope they don't pull the plug on this either.
It's very hard to be an early adopter of the MS technologies only for them to pull the plug on things.

@Chris Webb Thanks for the prompt reply. I do hope they keep the Private Channel momentum.
Out of interest is there any way at all that we can have a Meeting with anonymous users/guest users that allows for video? Not really looked into the whole meeting thing on the web with Teams and wondered if that was a way to keep communications going with Consumer users?

I had tried the meeting thing from Chrome but it tells me the Video option is not supported in the browser. Appears to work in Edge though but no everyone will have Edge.

I've installed the new skype (v8) consumer version, noone is online anymore, outlook contacts can't be chosen. Why does MS pay billions of dollars and then kill the product?
