User Impact: Customers migrating from Office 365 Video to Stream might have seen a notice that their migration was blocked and couldn't be finalized, causing a delay in migrating to Stream.

Scope of impact: During the migration if a video's view count couldn't be synced the entire migration was blocked and couldn't be finalized.

 

Current status: The migration attempts to sync view counts from O365 Video to Stream, however due to the legacy infrastructure involved in O365 Video view counts, it's not always possible to get the view counts in the migration sync process.

 

The migration was updated a few months back so that when a view count couldn't be synced it blocked the migration. However, we reversed that decision and have unblocked all migrations that had a missing video view count.

Now, missing view counts do not block the migration. Instead a message is added to the migration results CSV indicating that the view count wasn't migrated.

 

As a tenant's migration is unblocked the golive date of the migration is extended by 30 days to allow customers to validate the migration and set a golive date of their choosing.

We cannot guarantee that all view counts are synced with the migration and will not be investigating future instances where view counts are missing. More info on what get's synced in the migration: https://docs.microsoft.com/stream/migration-experience#sync-list
