It would be useful to be able to see who watched a video.  I'm using stream for company training and knowledge sharing, and tracking # of views is not sufficient.  A log of who watched each video would be a great first step.  Details on time spent, # of views and a log of which videos were watched by a user would be very useful.

At least it proves that the students have been to the site and found the video - which is a start.

More interesting on Microsoft's Roadmap for Stream is this, which is due out in June 2020

Microsoft Stream: Enhanced analytics for videos

Viewer analytics / statistics at the video level. With ability to see a trend of unique visitors and total views for a video overtime, as well as which parts of a video were viewed most. Plus support for downloading a CSV of video-level analytics.

Currently, accesses made to videos on Stream are in the audit log, and it is possible to check which users accessed the videos and when, etc. However, there is no way to check how long the users have spent watching it, or how long any individual user watched for, so please add these functions.

Definetly nice to have

As an educator during school closures i am forever trying to monitor pupil engagement.  We are loving using Teams to simply create "lessons" for students to view at home but it would be absolutely amazing if we could log the pupils who have (and therefore have not) accessed it.

This functionality would change streams from a video streaming site into one which organisations can monitor their workforces online training or in my case, pupils access to learning.

This could be very useful to track who watch the videos.

As a school, we try to keep remote students engaged. With this tracking feature, we would be able to track students with difficulties.

This tracking can provide useful KPIs for students success in their university journey.

Has this really died without resolution?

Please have a function where the one who have published the recording in MS teams, be able to see "who" have viewed the video. It will be helpful for those who are using MS Teams in school as it will give a good proof for those who have viewed already and the Teacher to know those who have not. The current function is only limited where the one who have published can only see how many views are there.

This would be VERY useful for faculty (k12, higher ed) if this was available. All they need is a list of people who've viewed the video. (Having info re: how much they watched would also be great.)

Please expand functionality to allow us to check how many minutes of a Stream video have been watched, if viewers stopped watching in the middle, etc.

This feature is needed and I'm surprised it isn't available. Before stream, I was storing my videos in OneDrive and sharing them with users in my company. OneDrive reports both how many views and who has viewed the video. Now, I've upgraded to stream to get a more social media feel and lost access to really useful features.

I an an instructional designer working with faculty teaching online and hybrid courses. Our IT department prefers us to use Microsoft for many things, but we still purchase another provider for streaming videos. The analytics need to improve a lot before we could make the switch to stream. An LTI for our LMS would be even better!

Please take a look at where we're headed with New Stream, and specifically see the first video at 14:40.

Nice!  though I don't see any specifics about when that will roll out, just that the current stream is being replaced with a new stream and getting to feature equivalency in 1H2021.

Hi all,

im an instructor, and I really need to be able see who viewed my videos, and if I could see how long they viewed for too.

Providing user stats is/who viewed is a basic feature for an video library. Otherwise, there are alternatives.

This would be very valuable for online instruction. Please make it a highest priority.

This seems to be the feature that is never released.  Comically I remember being at Ignite in 2018 when it was just a few quarters away, and here we are!

Will this ever be launched?
