It would be great to have a feature where you can replace/edit the source video file in Steam. This will allow URLs to remain static for content that may change (or need a quick correction) and not disrupt the user experience.

This would be a very useful feature.
It would help when making revisions and corrections to content, but not disrupting the url's.
It would also be great if it would show any revision detail.
i.e. version3 last updated XXX
Yes! Important feature. When details in a video changes (for instance a training video that is widely used), it's very inconvenient having to delete the old video (and thereby break all links), and then having to distribute a new link to essentially the same video.
Agree with the comments above, plus we currently lose any collaboration happening in the comments when we have to add/delete rather than replace videos.
Not to mention the statistics (number of views and likes) are lost also.
If MS doesn't want a "replace file" option, maybe a compromise would be to have a "review mode" where you could upload and share the video with people for feedback while having the ability to replace the file. Then, after pressing "Publish", it was not replacable anymore.
However, such a solution would still not meet the needs mentioned above. If some fact or detail changes after the video is published, one still would need to delete the old video and upload a completely new instance.

Yes please. This can be a show stopper !
This is a must for Microsoft Stream. Please vote this up!
This is a must have!
We may have a solution, if you go to FusedRealitiesInc.com it enables you to edit the PRESENTATION of the videos, without altering the videos (or infringing copyright). It is free to download and try out.
Would really appreciate any feedback, or further suggestions.
Just discovered this limitation when I went to update a training video that has been widely advertised to our staff. Without this feature, the best we could do would be to add a comment with a URL to the new version, but that's really messy. This is really important!

Definitely agree this is essential - video files are no different from documents - updated versions & edits are inevitable.
This is absolutely necessary to prevent considerable work that would go into having to update videos with new links every time a newer version is released.
Agreed with all of the above, replace feature is much needed. URLs are immediately irrelevant and have to be manually replaced.
If you update a video in Stream, this generates a new link, forcing the administrator to update any link to that video, potentially across multiple sites.
We need an option to upload a video that replaces the content without generating a new link.
Thank you.
I am shocked at how such a basic feature is not supported. Please add this feature as soon as possible.
We can do this in O365 video and need to be able to continue doing this in Stream so as not to lose analytics or originating URL.
We post training content to Stream and need the ability to update the content while keeping the URL (which has already been distributed to our enterprise)
Upvoted, and I'll buy a pizza for the development team!
I would also need this function, because I want to update tutorials. It should keep the likes and comments on the video.
I agree with previous commenters: The inability to replace original videos with corrections/updates is a grievous oversight in Stream. It will cause unnecessary extra work for users to replace the now-broken links.
This is a MUST HAVE NOW to make this tool useable.
As an enterprise solution, there are regular needs to update previously published, advertised, embedded videos with a newer versions. Having to delete and upload anew one, causing all reference to the original to no longer work is not an acceptable part of an enterprise level solution.
This would be great? Upvoted.
This is a great suggesting, but it's a duplicate with this other one:
I think it would get more attention if both would be merged...
Without this feature, the tool is significantly hindered in a corporate environment. Please don't delay, make this happen!
Same here, it would be very useful to have this feature in order to delegate to users the update of content embedded in applications.
Thanks in advance
A key feature that I am longing at the moment. Upvoted! :)
Just adding my two cents of agreement and desire for this feature.
Yes indefinitely, without this it's a deal breaker.
This is vital for production, especially in a Marketing firm that deals with a lot of videos.
This is not just useful or nice to have but an absolute must. Without it, I can't convince our users that it's a good idea to move to MS Stream. Please vote as well this one, which is part of the game.
