Please can you add a feature to translate the automated transcriptions of stream videos (like Skype?).  It would be nice to be able to automatically get Spanish and French subtitles for an English video without having to translate manually each time.

I understand that this feature may have to be labelled 'preview', but I'm OK with that.

Thanks

Hi,

you still can extract the transcript from a video, why not translating them in case that we don't understand the language from the video, and keep it +/- synchronized with the video. Like subtitle...

This would be brilliant in the education sector and elsewhere.

Surely the tech required to do this is all good to go....

This seems like low-hanging fruit. You already have the transcription technology. Now add your text translation technology and add a language drop-down with some sort of disclaimer about accuracy of automated translation blah blah.

Yes!!! We're wanting to move away from YouTube and this is the biggest feature I'm lamenting besides not yet being able to share videos with people outside fo the organization.

To me its also a no-brainer to have this added. You also do this already in a Live broadcasts with Skype for Business Meeting Broadcast (even 6 languages simultaneous). So having this included in recorded videos in Stream, which already has the transcription in the same language as the spoken language, would be relatively easy I would guess.

We really need it for our corporate videos. With multiple locations worldwide and having (ofcourse) people who're not able to understand English, this is a basic need for a system like Stream. Adding the transcript in additional languages manually is to me "old school" and is not done. Thanks in advance.

This will be a great feature.  We are a diverse workplace with many people for whom English is a secondary language, so having Spanish subtitles for all the English-speaking videos we produce would be extremely valuable.

Trying to keep this request alive.  This would be so helpful.

This would be a powerful tool especially within the education sector

Any updates to this request ? seems like something that would be simple and most beneficial to companies that span multiple countries.

I know it's not auto-translated but I found a service that will accept the vtt file and translate it retaining the timestamps to then be uploaded back to the video as a Closed Captioning file.  If anyone's interested, let me know.

@Doug Punchak

Doug, please post a link to the service.  I'd be interested to check it out.

Yes @Doug Punchak , I am also interested in what you found.

Certainly.  Let me get it.

@Doug Punchak - I am very interested in learning how I can take an English video I created, and get it captioned in a different language. I'm having a real hard time finding a way to do this without human translators. There are lots of solutions (MS Translator) that can take live spoken language and translate it in real time, but not a recorded video and do it. Anyone have any ideas? I'm shocked Microsoft Stream doesn't provide this ability since they can create the spoken captions an MS owns Translator. Seems like a no brainer.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

To whomever else might be interested, this company has a service that will translate VTT files.  I had one done for a 7 minute video and it worked perfectly.
