First, please make the description expanded by default. The vast majority of our videos are trainings and other resources, so the description is critical for at least 2 major reasons:
- General explanation/documentation (including links to additional videos/resources -- particularly given the current lack of playlists, but even with those this would still be necessary)
- Making the (genuinely awesome) hot links immediately accessible
Second, the de facto 'standard' for video descriptions is below the video. Without an intuitive and game-changing reason to alter this, users will continue to look for it below. The current choice is not game-changing and certainly not intuitive under a 'See more' link lost in the upper right hand corner under various other items.
Just because I'm curious, what was the rationale for hiding it by default and placing it in such an unusual location? Even if the current choice was technically 'better' than the current widespread practice, it's not 'better enough' to change user behavior, I don't think, but maybe there's user testing that proves me wrong?
