Ability to stream Live content for my company all-hands meeting or other live events
compliments for the good job.
As I understand Microsoft Stream is a youtube-like platform. It would be great to add live stream capabilities, so we can also do live broadcast events with it, without using third part platforms.
Agreed, utilize Powerpoint boardcast API & or, Uni Skype add-on /addt'l feature.
This is definately a must. Would be great for corporate, but not only that. We would love to have this for education.
Even the ability to use the live streaming from Azure as an entry point and have the final video show up on a channel.
Totally agree, would be awesome to have an option when setting up a S4B Broadcast meeitng for instance , just choosing which channel you should livestream too and then you're done.
Agreed -- a very valuable addition to the service, and that non-Microsoft competitors are providing as part of their cloud-based video hosting services.
this feature was just added to Skype Meeting Broadcast, but for O365 Video. :(
Yes, this is a must. And Microsoft should know that this is a totally separate initiative versus Skype Meeting Broadcast because SMB is alot more formal that requires multiple roles and content complexity and facilitates 2-way feedback where this is simply live video stream with the audio and nothing else (1-way only). Consider this more like Facebook Live where a TBD Stream App can stream a live video from someones smartphone/iPad to all watching.
360 live streaming would be nice
Haivision (we make great Azure / Kaltura / Wowza / etc. compatible encoders, among Enterprise streaming products) loves this idea (live streams in Stream), so let's keep those upvotes coming!
Haivision is very interested to understand current / potential Stream users' encoding & use case requirements for live streaming in Stream (when/if Microsoft decides to enable live streams in Stream).
Unless the moderators deem this subject inappropriate for this community, I'd invite this discussion to take place here, for any/all to discuss and monitor. You can also contact me directly. Thanks.
Today we use a Crestron Capture HD box as source for our livestreams. Together with services from Wowza we can send our livestream to all our employees. I would be very happy to replace Wowza with livestream from Microsoft with all the security capabilities included.
Love the idea of using stream within our organization for VOD assets, but Live Streaming is also something we utilize quite a bit in our current workflow. Would love to see functionality similar to YouTube Live in which an event gets converted and made available for on-demand playback following a live event. Definitely a demand for making more of our training sessions available "virtually".
@Amit Rajput Great to see this one is started. Thanks!
As our client is highly interested in a live streaming solution for his Office 365 environment it would be very helpful for us to receive some further information on this and especially for when it is planned to release this feature for Microsoft Stream.
Hi @Joseph Demmelmaier. Thanks for your message. We will be providing more details coming soon, so please watch out for this in the Office 365 Roadmap.
At a high level, we will be offering single bitrate RTMP(s) ingest with cloud encoding for multi-bitrate playback adaptive bitrate streaming.
Let me know if you need an early-adopter / tester. I have an event to stream on Friday!
That's great @Amit Rajput! Is there some documentation on this somewhere? I may have missed a notice...
The live event documentation can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/live-event-overview
The blog post can be found here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Stream-Blog/You-can-now-stream-live-events-with-Mic...
Can we make it easier to Stream than having to use a third-party encoders?
