We have discovered that when recording your screen using Stream, if you have the need to download the recording, it downloads as a webm file, whether its Apple or Windows; WHY?  Why can't it be downloaded as an mp4? There is now an extra step, requiring a converter.

@ChrisKnowlton  Do you have an update on this request. We are receiving requests fro mteacehrs saying that videos are being downloaded as webm files. Wondering if you can offer a suggestion

Hi Jose. This idea is still under review, just slowed by several technical and timing challenges as we continue our work on New Stream.

I am in the same boat as the other users.  Is there any update on this item?  If I have to use another software to convert the file from a webm file to an mp4 then why not use the other software to begin with instead of stream?

Any progress on this?

I was hoping to use Stream to create screen recordings for a series of instructional videos about using our web services but the .webm container isn't recognized by our editing or transcoding/conversion software. A container that only works inside the application that recorded it isn't very useful.
