The ability to curate videos from mutlipe sources to one channel is increasingly important to create effective learning content for groups. If we can add other public videos by reference to a stream, then we can use this as a platform to curate videos across varous sources.

When adding a video, have an option  to add an external video URL as the source (Youtube etc.).

That would be a very powerful feature. I was just looking for a way to do that.

That would be a good feature

This is essential for us to be able to use Stream as a powerful learning platform!

This would be an important feature for us, both to avoid rebuilding our current video knowledgebase and to minimize the amount of room that videos would use in O365.

I was at SharePoint Fest in Washington DC in 2016 and I watched the Stream presentation.  I believe this feature was described as an upcoming part of Stream.  I know things change, but this one should change back.

thank you

Totally agree, at this stage it is looking like we will need to built a front end of sorts to host the externally sourced content and then use stream for the internally built content and merge the two. This will be a large piece of work for our organisation so we would much prefer to have the ability for external content to be added to stream so we can use just the one platform.

Video as a medium for knowledge sharing is becoming increasingly important in the workplace. To have a central place to create a company video portal with internally created videos and links to related external video content would be most effective. I am just embarking on introducing video as a main medium in my organisation and got so excited about Stream. I previously linked to some of our company videos on Youtube in Office 365 Video thinking that now Stream is available, I can move everything to Stream. I was surprised that I couldn't embed a video like I could in Office 365 Video. Please make this feature available in Stream as without it, it has less value for companies who don't create a lot of their own video content.

I look forward to seeing this obvious requirement in Streams soon.

This is important to be able to upload a youtube video, it would help us signpost our users to training videos we as an organisation approve

I agree - I just started using stream and would love to share video content to this team versus adding a message in MS Teams. One place for all videos would be a nice feature.

Yes, this would be an awesome feature to utilize!

This feature exist in MS PowerPoint, why not Stream? Can't wait to it happens...

The asset library has the option, so why not in Stream ? This should be a "must have" feature

Essential feature for an internal video portal

This would be an excellent addition to the Stream application. Just a way to categorize and apply metadata to an external video link or resource would be terrific!

The idea of being able to use external videos in Stream would make adoption of O365 must easier and more engaging to my user community. I am especially interested in curating videos from the Microsoft training vault.

We would like to keep a repository of training videos from youtube using Stream.  This would be a great idea.

We have recently moved to O365 and I'm disappointed that you can't pull YouTube videos into Stream. This will probably mean that we don't use Stream at all. Stream could be amazing if we could pull videos from elsewhere for colleagues to watch alongside our own.

Our organization would like to see this happen as well. This feature would be used more if we could upload YouTube videos. We likely won't use it because of this, as we don't want to keep videos in two or more places. It is a nice feature otherwise.

For all the different outlets that are in place for companies to make information available. It would be really nice if Microsoft could supply the tool that would allow us to unify the information internally.

I want to be able to create a Stream Channel containing training videos (Pipedrive in this case), so that users have a quick and easy way to find them. Being able to just add a link to a video would make this so easy.

This would be a very useful feature to share videos from multiple sources across our Schools

@microsoft

Any progress or feedback on this feature request?

+1 @microsoft

this functionality has been requested since 2017?!?!? I can't believe a simple feature as linking external URL/Embedded video content has not been implemented.

There are circumstances where the video content cannot sit behind the protection of the domain/tenant and as such must be shared on platforms such as You tube such that users with the appropriate link can access the content without hiding the content behind account authentication (e.g. unlisted you tube video content). Not to be able to link this type of content back into a company controlled O365 Group/Channel is more than mildly annoying and is a contributing factor to the lack of user adoption!

And don't even suggest to host the same content in multiple platforms, that's just an idiotic and wasteful approach!

Please sort this out, its the end of 2019 now!!!

My company has a Youtube channel. I want to be able to embed videos in a channel, if not that then just use a link directly to YouTube. MS Stream is useless without that. I see Stream as a repository for these links. Uploads are okay, but space is precious for companies that want everything inside a firewall.

Please add this feature!!

i've just wasted half an hour researching how to add a simple URL as a video in steam, which we are finally pushing out to our company! only to find out its not possible. isnt this such a simple fix, drop the url in to upload feature or embed code.

please add this feature, for us we do not want to waste time getting copies of youtube videos or creating our own when they already exist online.
