When recording team meetings sometimes data is shared that we don't want in the final video, could be passwords, financial data, etc.  While we have the ability to trim the ends of the video and could theoretically copy and cut apart the video into multiple chunks to remove this content; It would be nice to simply cut out the section entirely, remove/replace the video section with a static image "Content Removed", [blur sections of the video] or remove the audio from sections of the video and thus keeping the video otherwise intact.

Same would be good for recordings of longer meetings where a break is taken; the recording could be trimmed to remove the 10-15 minute dead space.

Being able to edit a video, slicing it from middle to remove certain stuff is necessary. Please provide this feature in streams.

Occasional Visitor

Please provide duplicate video feature, its another way of slicing a long video to create shorter sections.

Visitor

please add the ability to cut out middle sections of video feature - this tool would rock if you could edit out sections of video - not merely trim the beginning/endings

Being able to cut from the middle and move content around/splice with other videos would be really helpful!

Being able to remove completely audio from a video is important to protect privacy.

Stream needs the ability to edit out dead air from any part of the video.  Our videos are used for training and it would help to to edit video.

I use TimeBolt.io to capture live video calls right on my desktop, instantly cut dead-air, cut unnecessary break out events / delays anywhere on the timeline up to 4x speed, and then upload to Stream. Takes 7 minutes to cut 20 minutes of dead air and delays out of an hour video. You just can't move scenes around because it's a linear editor.

Editing is a must. Adding text comments to a video would be a nice thing, in case you have to correct something you mention in the video which is "false".

this feature is FUNDAMENTAL... you always need to cut away small portions of the video for whatever reason!!

If you already have the functionality to trim the start and end points of a video, it would seem like an incredibly small step to remove a section of video. Please add this!

Im another voting for the ability to duplicate the video, so either can be trimmed, or splitting the video into two by another method. That is, I want the ability to create two videos from the one. Thanks!

You are Microsoft, we need a video editor for stream videos. I am getting frustrated with these teams meeting videos that we have little control over, just cut off the beginning or the end.

I do love the time stamp (although I found by accident and it is great to jump to certain parts of the video) but if I need to cut out an area in the middle I need to go to an outside editor do get this done or my recording will be rendered useless (I hope so, I am trying to find one today).

I too would like to splice a streamed video.  It would be helpful to edit out interruptions, technical difficulties, errors made while making a training video can just be edited out so you don't have to start recording all over again, etc.

Just had a call with yet another end user needing this feature today! please make sure this gets reviewed as getting developed and not binned! so needed!!

Would love to be able to splice a video like you could in the old Windows Media Creator

Same - would be really helpful to be able to cut chunks from the middle of videos such as when people are in breakout rooms.

Definitely would be good to be able to edit out the dead space when people are in breakout rooms.  I had one person who didn't join a room and then sat and talked to himself.  This was all caught on video and now I can't use the video at work, because he is stuck in the middle of it.  I would love to be able to edit that section out.

Trimming video from the middle is highly needed because some mistakes happens during the meeting or during the live events or some words which is not suitable while teaching students, other students can catch those words from the recording and they started to repeat it.
Also during live events sometimes the presenters doing mistakes in sharing wrong videos pictures or presentation that needs to be removed from the middle of the recorded video to be able to publish a clean version of the recorded video.

This seems like a no-brainer to add as a feature and should be up higher in priority. More and more recordings are happening now with WFH and higher adoption rates of Teams.

The dead space in the middle of a recording from a teams meeting (during breakouts, etc.) is making the stream videos almost impossible for us to use.  The ability to cut out a chunk in the middle of a video would help so much!

Working in healthcare, there are times when protected health information may accidently be shared during a screen share on a recorded meeting. Need to be able to cut out that information.

Jump cuts are an important feature for me please. Pauses are bad for audience retention. I don't have a video editor at work, and my company-issued-potato probably isn't capable anyway.

Is this something you could discuss with perhaps the PowerPoint team? They also are putting in video recording and Stream upload features. Perhaps offload the burden of your shoulders?

Not saying I would be opposed to see this functionality in Stream, by any means. A cloud editor would be awesome :) But I'm thinking it could be made faster if the burden was shared ;)
