Channel Permissioning/Inheriting Permissions

Copper Contributor

Is there any way that Stream groups can inherit permissions from SharePoint sites? If not does something like this exist outside of Teams? We are searching for a way to manage a channel with a very large, dynamic permission group.

Your permission levels are Office 365 groups, channels, People. So if you have a SharePoint Group connected site you can use the Office 365 group for permissions, or if you have a Microsoft Team with the people that need access, you just add the associated Office 365 group (since this gets created with every Team) and then the permissions will be based on the Owners and Members of that Team.

Absolutely, channels are only ways to organise videos and are not to do with permissions. As @Chris Webb groups control permissions - so give the Office 365 group linked with SharePoint permissions over the channel - job done.
