Graph API to add/edit/delete Bookmarks, QnA and Locations

Copper Contributor

Hi there,

Can anyone point me in the direction of APIs for Search?

Hopefully they exist, ideally with a Flow connector

Thanks

Hi Chris, Microsoft Search in Bing leverages the capabilities of Office Graph so you should be good to go! Cheers, -Wendy

@Wendy_MSFTThanks for the reply but I've searched the Graph documentation but can't find any reference to Search. (incl the Beta API)

Can you point me in the direction of them?

Hi Chris, Here is a link to get you started: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/driveitem-search?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=cs#searching-fo.... We are also working on improving and creating additional APIs. As a sidenote, you can use this widget if you want a search box: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/add-a-search-box-to-your-intranet-site. Cheers, -Wendy

@Wendy_MSFT Sorry, I must be missing something, where does this show me how to add or edit Bookmarks or Locations?

Apologies, Chris as apparently I'm not tracking your question. Are you asking how to add/edit bookmarks and locations in the admin portal? Thanks for any clarification!

Cheers,
-Wendy

@Wendy_MSFT  Hi, no, I'd like to add or edit via an API.

I've got a large library of information I'd like to continue to maintain in our system but push the edits into Search. The import of a csv is just not flexible enough.

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification and scenario, Chris! No, we don't currently support this functionality but it's a great idea! I will open a feature request for engineering to review this ask.

Cheers,
-Wendy

@Wendy_MSFT Did you get any response on that feature request? I don't know if it helps with priority, but since we have similar needs and there now seems to be a (still pretty empty) UserVoice forum for Microsoft Search, I have added an idea for allowing us to automate search administration through PowerShell and APIs. @Chris van der Wal  if you still have this need you may want to vote in the link below... :)

@Chris van der Wal Update.  For Microsoft Search APIs, refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/search-concept-overview.  In addition, check out the new Graph Connectors at https://aka.ms/MicrosoftSearch/Connectors.

@Bill Baer those are all good, but does not help with the question

@Chris van der Wal Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm looking to just retrieve locations setup in Microsoft Search, but as far as I can tell, there are still no APIs available for accessing Bookmarks, QnA and Locations directly.

@captainkirkwood I've been waiting for this roadmap item since Sept 2020. But it's hopefully going to be enabled in August 2021. See the roadmap item below:

Graph API to add/edit/delete Bookmarks, QnA and Locations - Microsoft Tech Community

I checked the Graph explorer but I don't see it yet. If you run into anything regarding this topic let me know.

Does anyone have any idea when this will be available for GA?
