Microsoft Content Search - escaping KQL query special characters

Copper Contributor

Hi All, I am trying to create a Microsoft Purview Content Search, targeting specific folders in a OneDrive or SharePoint site using DocumentLink field.

Some folders naming convention contains special characters such as open or close brackets, example query below.

DocumentLink:“<OneDrive_siteURL>/Documents/01)Apps”

Receiver error message - "Fix errors to proceed - Invalid query syntax: No open parenthesis found for closing parenthesis at position 1"

Any assistance on how to escape special characters would be much appreciated. Confirming using ` or `$ or | as escape qualifiers does not fix this issue.

If there are no solutions for Content Search can this be fixed using PowerShell New-ComplianceSearch

Regards
