As we wrap up an exciting quarter filled with innovations and announcements, we have some great  features to share with you.

Here is the latest and greatest that landed in production in the month of November 2019.

  • Request files
  • Language localization for OneDrive emails

Edit : For any updates on Save for Later, please follow feature ID : 49095

Request Files
Roadmap ID: 27020

We are glad to announce roll out of the “Request Files” functionality where you can create special links to request files from others. Anyone with the file request link will be able to upload files without having to sign in, no OneDrive account required. Best of all, uploaders will only be able to upload files. They can't view, edit, or even see who else may have uploaded to the request.

There are multiple use cases where this feature can be extremely valuable – consider "Request for Proposal" (RFP) scenario where you need to collect bids from others, or a marketing professional accumulating quotes from various vendors for a campaign, a teacher collecting assignments , a manager reaching out for feedback from his team members or a financial rep or recruiter gathering documents from their clients- just to name a few.

Language localization for OneDrive emails

Roadmap ID: 55557

We will now localize emails where possible to the preferred language of recipients as defined in their AAD and Exchange settings. In the case of multi-recipient emails the built-in logic will consume content and site languages to localize emails.

Learn more and stay engaged

As you can see, we continue to evolve OneDrive as a place to access, share, and collaborate on all your files in Office 365, keeping them protected and readily accessible on all your devices, anywhere.

You can stay up-to-date on all things via the OneDrive Blog and take advantage of end-user training resources on our Office support center.

Thank you again for your support of OneDrive. We look forward to your continued feedback on UserVoice and hope to connect with you at Ignite or another upcoming Microsoft or community-led event.

Thanks for your time reading all about OneDrive,

Wonderful , Thank you new great features, Request Files, Localization, and all

In the case of multi-recipient emails the built-in logic will consume content and site languages to localize emails.

What does this mean? Is it the same process like for renewal mails in Office Groups? Or all recipients get the mail in their own language?
For example, renewal mails in Office Groups are defined by the group owner language. If a group has more than one owner and the owners are using different languages a group sends the renewal mails in the majority of all languages to the owners.

@Ankita Kirti, Saved for later and request files look like interesting features and I could see where our staff could take advantage of both of these features.!

Would love to see "Request Files" make it to the consumer version of OneDrive. I've used it with DropBox and NextCloud and they're great ways to let people upload files without needing an account. I've used it for family/small group type events so people can easily share pics - including with those who don't have a Facebook, MS, etc. account.

@Ankita Kirti, glad to see that both Save for Later and request files have rolled out to our tenant.  Will be sending out tips on how to use this to the staff soon.  Also, @Peter Schott, I'd like to see that for personal accounts as well and could see where it would be helpful on the consumer version.

I liked Request Files because I am able to view use cases but still not be able to find good use cases for "Saved for later".

Maybe I am bot able to understand, but if I already uploaded my file in One drive then what is the use of "Saved For Later".

Is this something like "Favourite"?

Microsoft

@aksingh yes it is like favorite or bookmark scenario. For example someone has shared a file with you or if you want to favorite a file in a shared lib that you would get to later , SVL can be helpful in such scenarios.

I really like both features. I've tried both, but I'm not able to use the 'Save for Later' feature. I always get the message:

Cannot convert the literal ‘2020-02-12T12.52.57.720Z’ to the expected type ‘Edm.DateTimeOffset’.

I've searched the internet for an answer, but alas nothing found regarding this. Can someone please help or at least paste a link of where I can find a solution to this, thank you.

One possible use case for Save For Later is to pull reports and charts to download and combine into one PDF. We have a department that stores info in different doc libraries so SFL can be used to select files from different libraries and then download them all at once instead of one at a time. However; SFL appears to only be available in the web version of OneDrive and not the desktop app?
