At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.  By helping people be more organized, more productive, and by enabling better collaboration, OneDrive is core to this mission.

I am very proud to announce that this week marks our 10th anniversary of the release of OneDrive. In 2007, we set out on a journey to make sharing and file management easier in the cloud, to enable people to securely store and access their photos and files from anywhere, on any device. Today, hundreds of millions of users store and share their most important photos, documents and media from OneDrive. We are humbled by your adoption of our work and excited to continue the journey with you and deliver experiences that are even more collaborative, intelligent, and secure.

OneDrive gives you anywhere access and the ability to stay organized, and when used with Office 365, it brings you the power to work productively and collaborate securely.

We’ve asked how you use OneDrive and we’ve heard from many of you that your most important moments and work are stored in OneDrive. From sharing a photo album with family, working together on a homework assignment with classmates, or co-creating a sales presentation with colleagues. We understand what that means. It has to just work. Easily, quickly and accurately every time.

Over the years we have listened to you, and we have strived to address their needs.  From hobbyists and creators, students and educators, government organizations, small businesses and the largest companies in the world tell us what they love about OneDrive and what else they want.  Each day, over 115 million customers including 85% of the Fortune 500, trust OneDrive with their most important documents and content. Usage of OneDrive for Business has more than doubled in the last year alone.  And this past week, we were pleased to announce that Gartner recognized OneDrive as a leader in the Content Collaboration Platforms (CCP), Magic Quadrant Report for 2017 (view the full report here).

In the past year, we focused particularly on enhancements that make OneDrive more collaborative, more intelligent and more secure. We released over 100 features that enable both consumer and business scenarios including a new sync client, increased file size support, viewers for over 270 different file types including DICOM, AI, PSD. PDF, Visio, and more, expanded version history support to all file types, iMessaging sharing, intellegent search powered by Microsoft Graph, new photo intelligence features, Microsoft Flow, and improved sharing and collaboration functionality across Mac, iOS, Android, Web and Windows.

What’s next for OneDrive? We recently released the preview for OneDrive Files On-Demand , a feature that will come to all our consumer and business customers later this year. And this is just the beginning. Over the next few months, we’ll release incredible new mobile features, innovative ways to manage and secure your content, and smarter ways to make sharing and collaboration better than ever.

Thank you for this amazing journey so far. I look forward to the next 10 years to see what amazing things our customers do with OneDrive!
