Earlier this year at the virtual conference Dev//Verse: Empowering Developer Universe, Microsoft reaffirmed its commitment to Empower Indonesia Digital Economy by supporting the growth of digital skills for the Indonesian community.
An area highlighted in this plan was the launch of the platform Azure Innovation Portal in Bahasa Indonesian. This platform allows developers to build innovations on the Microsoft Cloud in their own local language.
The importance of localizing content empowers professional development and enhances the tech skills and productivity of the workforce.
Ridi Ferdiana, an Indonesian Azure Most Valuable Professional (MVP), explains that “developers are the heart and soul of businesses. They provide recommendations to stakeholders about technology, platform, and the cloud. By engaging them in local language, it opens the opportunity to expand their mind and their technology decisions”.
In response to further support an empowered developer community through the localization of content and learning, four Indonesian MVPs including Ridi Ferdiana, Agus Suparno, Erick Kurniawan and Temmy Raharjo, collaborated with the Microsoft Reactor to deliver virtual training sessions to an audience of developers, university students and professionals.
“The Reactor has a well-established environment and is a perfect platform to engage with community. Therefore, collaborating with the Reactor was a must”, says Ridi Ferdiana.
The initial three week Reactor virtual series delivered by our technical leaders, covered themes of Azure and Power Platform, and saw a highly engaged audience with follow up learning courses completed in Microsoft Learn. Microsoft Learn is an online learning platform which contains localized resources to help drive the delivery of nine million Indonesian tech professionals by 2035.
According to MVP Ridi Ferdiana, raising awareness through education is the best way to uplift a community and keep them engaged. He describes that “the acceptance of Azure is better than before, however, the community need to know and understand the value proposition of Azure compared with the other providers who have also released in Indonesia”.
