AZ-900 Changes as of 5 May 2022

Copper Contributor

Hey Everyone

So the Skills Measured has changed for the AZ-900 Exam. It use to be 6 Main Sections

Describe cloud concepts (20-25%)
Describe core Azure Services (15-20%)

Describe core solutions and management tools on Azure (10-15%)

Describe general security and network security features (10-15%)

Describe identity, governance, privacy, and compliance features (15-
20%)

Describe Azure cost management and Service Level Agreements (10-
15%)

It is now only 3 sections and although they have explained the changes on the Skill Outline Document the material on the https://docs.microsoft.com/ website still reflect the 6 Main Categories Measured . Finding it really hard to find my way around this seeing that the new exam is based of only 3 Main Sections.

Describe cloud concepts (25–30%)

Describe Azure architecture and services (35–40%)

Describe Azure management and governance (30–35%)

Anyone know if the https://docs.microsoft.com/ website will be updated by Microsoft to reflect the changes made to the Skills Outline

Thanks

The skills measured document https://query.prod.cms.rt.microsoft.com/cms/api/am/binary/RE3VwUY explains the changes

In summary, some content has been removed and the level of technical depth reduced. As part of this they have merged some of the objectives

I would expect the learning paths on Microsoft Learn to be updated/replaced to match the new skills measured
Thank you very much @Julian Sharp

I was thinking the same thing that the learning path of Microsoft Learn would be updated, just thought that it would ne there already because if you sit an exam on any day after the 5th of May 2022 you would get the new version of the exam

I'll give it a couple of days and see if the Learning side is updated.

Thanks Again for your reply

I would expect the new version of the exam to be a subset of the current modules in Learn. I suspect that the learn modules will be longer than a couple of days. If you are in a hurry I would just work through the exsiting learning content as there is no harm in knowing about any of the detail in it
Thank You @JulainSharp

I think that is what I am going to do, like you said no harm in knowing the extra details.

Thank you

@gd44gibson  i will do the same , i will give it couple of days then i will check

@Julian Sharp Is there any update from the MS on the course material of the latest syllabus.

@kjoth90 I think the due date in July 1st but I haven't checked

The Learn modules for AZ-900 can be found at the bottom of this page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/courses/az-900t00

Note: the exam page for AZ-900 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/az-900?tab=tab-learning-paths still has the old learning paths

@Julian Sharp Do you have the information by when Microsoft is planning to update the new syllabus? It has become confusing.

@dhaivat the objective domain and exam were updated in May and the course has just been updated to match

@dhaivat the outline and courses on MS Learn are now updated. at both of below links.
