Microsoft

The role of a Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer is to plan, design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot an integrated communications solution at an organization. They must be able to translate business requirements into technical architecture and designs for communication solutions.

The Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer is familiar with telecommunication technologies and has experience in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and PowerShell.  They must be able to deploy and configure Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Teams Calling Plans as well as manage Teams-certified devices, audio/video conferencing, and voice migration.

The Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer collaborates with telephony providers and third-party vendors to enable advanced voice features in Microsoft Teams and works with administrators for other workloads, including networking, identity, licensing, security, and compliance.

Does this describe you? If so, check our new certification, Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Voice Engineer, Expert. To earn this certification, candidates must pass Exam MS-700: Managing Microsoft Teams in addition to the MS-720: Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer exam, currently in beta.

Is this the right certification for you?

This certification could be a great fit if you have significant experience planning, designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting integrated communications solutions at organizations and can translate business requirements into technical architecture and designs for communication solutions. You must also have Microsoft Teams administration skills as demonstrated by passing MS-700.

Great to see an exam focused on Voice!

I am planning to do a video training course for the MS-720, if that is interesting to you, let me know, I will be giving early access to some people for input.

Hello @Deleted,
How is it going? I hope you are well indeed.
I have subscribed to take the MS Teams Voice Engineer beta exam and as one would imagine I'm looking for any material that can help me better prepare for the task.
A bit of topic but within the same realm of Teams, I'm also interested in instructions about customized report in Teams, is that something you have any video training available?
Essentially I'm looking for customized user activity reports, what I have in mind is exporting the data from Teams and then manipulating to my needs using either Power BI or Excel. This is an early stage project where I'm searching for alternatives.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Tom, having just passed MS-700 and preparing for this one, I'd be very interested.

When will the MS-740 Troubleshooting Microsoft Teams (beta) results be posted?  I took this exam July 21st, still nothing in the MCP site.

Hi all,

Trying to book MS-720 this whole week with the intention to schedule it this weekend - discount code above is accepted,
however very-very last final Submit step fails with empty pop-up window displaying "this content is blocked, ask site admin". NOT a pop-up itself,
pop-up displays Ok, tried multiple PCs, multiple browsers, cleared browser' history, made sure no pop-up/ad blocker, using same credit card and same PC/browser as successfully several times this Summer, again FINAL Submit step AFTER discount code shown above is applied and discounted amount shown.

Of course contacted Pearson VUE (it is theirs WEB UI fails, not Microsoft's one but the next one used to schedule and pay where MSFT redirects,

after redirect and after all the steps before final Submit), of course they are so totally useless (such as advising me to check pop-up blocker and clear browser' history like me is that stupid for not doing that 10 times and also after being successfully able to book several more NON-Beta exams this year :) ).

Now, educated guess - TOO LATE for this BETA exam, right, is this a root cause? I mean seat availability mentioned above.

Well still, IF SO then WHY they'd accept abovementioned discount code then and allow me to choose this weekend date and available time slot?

Thanks a lot for any advise.

There is no learning path for the exam MS-720 as today. My question is if it will be one available or do we have to prepare the material only based on the skills outlines

Hi all,

disregard the issue reported here above: I could book it on 2-nd November and the reported issue only happened trying book on the weekend,

probably this is not a bug but a feature (unavailability of seats). So happily it let me jump in the last coach of the leaving train in the last moment.

So I attempted it yesterday.

People, quite A LOT of questions are NOT 100% consistent if say at least, to be honest.

Quite some NON-cosmetic inconsistencies as well. But I am not complaining, I guess this is the meaning/goal of BETA exams...

Only a huge pity I could not make screenshots while having it online. I would totally document and report it otherwise :)

So. Pretty/very small chance I passed, but no doubts it was totally worthwhile to try.

I remember earlier, in Lync Server / Skype for Business times, we had 100% discount on Beta exams, now 80% but still very decent.

I believe yesterday was last Beta day or will Beta period be extended as of not yet enough attendees?
