In April, we announced plans to bring the capabilities of Kaizala - the simple and secure mobile chat app for work - into Microsoft Teams. Today, we are announcing the first set of Kaizala capabilities are rolling out to Teams in the coming weeks. With these new capabilities, Teams is getting even better, and we encourage you to start using Teams today!
The new features are based on Kaizala action cards for quick polls and surveys, which will be available both in the desktop and the mobile app, and can be easily added to a channel or chat message by clicking on “…” at the bottom of the compose box:
Send Quick Polls to your team, and receive aggregated responses instantly.
If you and your team want to get a quick vote on any topic or question, for example the location for the next team lunch, you can send out a quick poll to capture instant and aggregated feedback. The poll owner can set a due date for responses and choose between two notification options: a daily digest of progress that tracks participation as a percentage and tallies responses, or consistent updates as each response is captured.
If participation is low, the poll owner can send channel-wide reminders. The poll owner can also set preferences for result visibility. If allowed by the owner, all channel members can view live poll results, and poll outcomes can be saved and shared outside of the channel as a visual report, allowing for crisp communication both inside and outside of the team.
Surveys make it easy to share questions with added options for responses like multiple-choice, rating, text, number and date/time.
For example, if senior leadership would like to gather feedback on a quarterly company meeting, they can send out a survey to all attendees in a channel with varied question types.
Like with polls, each survey owner can set a due date for responses, choose different notification options, send reminders to drive participation, and set preferences for result visibility. If allowed, all channel members can persistently view results, and can save and share a visual report of the outcomes.
Surveys and quick polls are just the first Kaizala capabilities to light up in Teams. In the next year, we’ll be adding additional Kaizala Pro capabilities to Teams.

As we integrate Kaizala and Teams, Teams will ultimately replace the Microsoft Kaizala service and be the primary client in Office 365 and Microsoft 365 for communication with both internal employees and people in your extended networks.
During the integration, Kaizala will continue as a standalone service which we will continue to support and update. New capabilities have been added to Kaizala in the past few weeks, including 1. Support for right-to-left languages such as Hebrew and Arabic; and 2. a new web app allowing you to access Kaizala through a browser.
When should my organization move from Kaizala to Teams?
We encourage all Microsoft 365 and Office 365 customers to start using Teams today to take advantage of the rich capabilities that Teams as the hub for teamwork in Microsoft 365 provides, including a simple and powerful experience for mobile users in 46 languages and 181 markets, Firstline worker capabilities such as shift management, guest access, and support for custom workflows and apps with Microsoft Flow and PowerApps.

What can I do to prepare for the transition?
We’re working to bring the Kaizala Pro capabilities into Teams by the end of calendar year 2020. Once the new capabilities are part of Teams, Kaizala customers will be able to start transitioning to Teams. We will provide more information and guidance closer to that date.
Can I continue to use Kaizala?
As we integrate Kaizala Pro capabilities into Teams, Kaizala will continue as a standalone service, which we will continue to support and update.
