Intune - Windows 10 Devices

Brass Contributor

Few questions about Intune :

  1. I created a profile to test the Device Compliance on Windows 10 devices. Are there any logs on the Client side to determine if the compliance has run.

  2. Deploying Win32 apps through Intune. I know there is a limit of 8GB for a given package but are there any total number of limit for the number of packages ? Like the storage limit. Do we need an Azure Storage account to hold the package binaries ?

  3. Regarding UPN. Currently in our organization we use xxx as the login for all our devices and our emails are different from them. So while moving to Intune do we need to change the UPN ?
  4. Can we deploy Quality updates only for Windows 10 using Intune instead of Feature updates ?
  5. Are there any plans for devices that does not meet policy compliance to reset it automatically ?

Thanks,

Vinod

Hi @Vinod7,

  1. Compliance is checked against the device and reported back within the Intune console. There are reports which'll help review device compliance, and troubleshoot any compliance-related issues within your organization. More information can be found in our docs here: Monitor Intune Device compliance policies.
  2. All apps that you create by using the software installer installation type (for example, a line-of-business app) are packaged and uploaded to Intune cloud storage. A trial subscription of Intune includes 2 gigabytes (GB) of cloud-based storage that is used to store managed apps and updates. A full subscription does not limit the total amount of storage space.
    1. Requirements for cloud storage space are as follows:

      • All app installation files must be in the same folder.

      • The maximum file size for any file that you upload is 8 GB.

  3. We have a couple of docs available that may answer your question. Please review the following, and let us know if you have any additional questions:
    1. Add users and grant administrative permission to Intune
    2. Assign licenses to users so they can enroll devices in Intune
  4. There are a few update settings available within Intune. More information can be found here: Windows update settings for Intune.
  5. We value your feedback! Can you elaborate on your feedback by posting an idea over at our Intune UserVoice?

Lastly, I'd like to reference a couple of docs that may help implement Intune within an organization:

Hope this helps!
