Android Enterprise force app update

Is there anyway that an app update can be forced from Intune. We've been trying to rollout an app update for about a week now. According to Android's documentation the ability is built in the platform for the EMM provider to use - https://developers.google.com/android/work/play/emm-api/update#push_updates_immediately

@TreVon McKay  Did you ever get an answer to this?  We have an app that needs updating every month and if it doesnt it stops talking to the web based version (obviously theres a problem with the developer of the software but anyway thats a different issue)  We have to manually update 150 tablets each time, pain in the a***
