Proving the case for Intune cloud management
The Microsoft Intune story at Microsoft Ignite 2023 can be summed up this way: A cloud-native endpoint management approach with Intune may be the fastest way to recognize security and productivity value for enterprise and get ready for the AI-enabled future.
Intune provides end-to-end management across platforms to meet nearly every use case. The story is even more compelling with the announcements of additional solutions for the Microsoft Intune Suite and the introduction of Security Copilot in Intune.
New Intune Suite solutions coming in early 2024
Intune cloud endpoint management and the solutions in the Intune Suite speed the updates you need to help stay secure. The Intune Suite gives you the centralized data and insights into device health and performance that IT needs to keep users happy and productive and simplifies your IT and security operations.
As organizations realize the value and power of the cloud, the appetite for more specialized tools unified in the Intune integrated platform has increased. Today we are announcing our plan to release the following solutions in February 2024 for general availability as new additions to the Intune Suite:
- Microsoft Intune Enterprise App Management – A solution that modernizes app management by providing simplified discovery, automated packaging, and deployment and updating outdated apps. You gain access to a secure catalog of prepackaged third-party apps that can be easily discovered, deployed, and kept up to date directly from the Microsoft Intune admin center.
- Microsoft Intune Advanced Analytics – A set of AI- and analytics-driven capabilities that help you understand, anticipate, and proactively improve the end-user experience.
- Microsoft Cloud PKI – A cloud-based certificate lifecycle management solution that reduces the complexity of managing certificate infrastructure to meet industry security and compliance standards. Create certification authorities and certificate profiles in Intune for app authentication, Wi-Fi/VPN authentication, and Network Access Controls (NAC) conditional access.
When these solutions roll out in the February 2024 release of Intune, Global and Billing administrators can use the centralized experience (Intune add-ons) in the Intune admin center to easily access trial licenses (up to 250 users for 90 days) and licenses to purchase.
Similar to the existing solution of the suite, the new additions to the Intune Suite will also be available as individual add-ons to Microsoft subscriptions that includes Intune for added flexibility. The US dollar per user, per month price of all the add-ons of the Intune Suite are:
- Enterprise App Management $2
- Advanced Analytic $5
- Cloud PKI $2
- Remote Help $3.5
- Endpoint Privilege Management $3
- Intune Plan 2 (which currently includes Microsoft Tunnel for Mobile Application Management, specialty devices management and mobile firmware updates over-the-air) $4
Although available individually to buy or as a trial, we expect most organizations will realize greatest value with the adoption of the entire Intune Suite. The list US dollar price for the Intune Suite will remain at $10 per user per month. We’re also pleased to announce that the Intune Suite will be available to Microsoft 365 for Government customers in March 2024. The new additions to the suite, in addition to the existing solutions, will be available to agencies and organizations of the US government to help them on their path to Zero Trust and to meet the requirements of the Executive Order mandating adoption of security best practices.
Security Copilot in Intune
Intune is already a key component of Security Copilot and available as part of the Early Access Program. Today, we’re excited to announce a new experience with Copilot in Intune that brings generative AI functionality for key endpoint management and security scenarios to where you work. Launching in the coming weeks in private preview for select customers of the Early Access Program, administrators will be able to simulate changes to device policies in their environment before they apply them, gather detailed forensic device, user, and app data with natural language, and get recommendations from the service with the help of AI.
