Healthcare professionals today are faced with the challenge of managing overwhelming collections of textual data. Whether it’s PubMed articles, lab reports, gray literature, or electronic health records, practitioners need access to new tools that allow them to find, manage, and learn from different kinds of textual data. In this talk, we show how Cognitive Services and Azure Search are being used to help manage – and extract insight from – large amounts of clinical text. In addition to discussing best practices for leveraging the power of Azure Search, we show how Form Recognizer can be used to reliably extract content from structured records, and how new features in Text Analytics can be used to help safeguard sensitive data and reduce the compliance burden for managing personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information.
