New improvements for the Forms quick poll bot in Teams

In Microsoft Teams, you can use the Microsoft Forms app to quickly conduct a poll in a conversation. We’re working to make this experience even easier.

Once you create quick poll in Teams, the poll will be shown as a new thread within your team’s conversation. The thread will never collapse, even as it collects responses.

We also added full width symbol support for the Forms app, which means customers of full width symbol languages, such as Chinese, no longer have to switch back and forth from English for input. You can type your question and options in the format, “[Your question]? Option1, Option 2” using any language.

We’d love to get your feedback about this feature. Please go to the Microsoft Forms UserVoice site to offer suggestions or vote on ideas others have already submitted.

If options can be presented via number or characters then it would be better.

Eg A B,C,D or 1), 2) 3),4).

Would be a nice improvement, if the original post was merged/hidden/removed, once the Forms Bot makes it's post.

Just avoids confusion for comments/replies to effectifally multiple threads of the same thing.

In that poll feature in Teams, can you somehow see results by the responder - who has responded and what?
Brass Contributor

@petterikoski you can see the results in the Forms "Group forms" section.

Unfortunately there is no option (at least I couldn't find it) to set the poll as anonymous. You can see who voted what.

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong Li , is it possible to see the answers in percentage %?

@FelicianoPaulo yes, we will show the % in the chart.

The extra render of the full survey is not appearing for me, it simply shows the @forms with the question and answer. This is across both webapp and desktop

Please advise @Zhongzhong Li

Unfortunately this feature don't work with external and guest users in teams, if we create any meeting with external and guest users then it's not working. @Zhongzhong Li do you have any suggestions for this ? I have checked this article is this related to it : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/forms-for-poll-does-not-work-in-teams-chat/49...

Microsoft

@mrabhishek did you meet this error in Chat or Channel?

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong Li @I found this error on teams 1 on teams meetings and teams channel.

Copper Contributor

Was this feature remove from Microsoft Teams?  I no longer see this option.

Brass Contributor

Hi @Michael Davis ,

do you mean the quick poll via the Forms bot?

Still works for me, just checked.

Microsoft

@Michael Davis , the feature is available for all customers in Teams. And we keep updating for it. Have you try it in Chat / Channel of the main process?

Copper Contributor

When will the Forms bot allow for external participants and guests to participate?

Copper Contributor

you can't use the forms bot during a meeting within the new Microsoft Teams experience (Settings > New meeting experience). Very frustrating as a survey during a meeting is very useful!

This is a great feature. One thing we recently ran into was that some users couldn't make a poll in certain Teams, If they were an Owner they would be able to create the poll, if a Member they couldn't, but in some Teams being a Member or Owner didn't matter, they could create a poll...>Strange

Any plans to add a free-form answer option?

Copper Contributor

Free-form answer option would be great
