One of the top requests we get from Enterprise customers and the Forms UserVoice community is to include company branding with surveys. We now offer more customization support in survey logo, theme, background, and thank you page.

Survey logo

Many of you want to include a company logo at the top of your form. With branding improvements, you can now include your logo in its entirety without having to adhere to specific set dimensions.

Theme

Once you’ve added your company logo, you can also customize the theme of your survey with a company color.

Background

You can also add a high resolution background image to make your survey pop.

Thank you message

Finally, craft a personal thank you message for your customers. Go to More form settings (…) > Settings, then select Customize thank you message.

Great enhancements! Thanks, Forms team.

Copper Contributor

Looking good!  I can't find how to add my company logo?

Brass Contributor

Thanks a lot!

MS is on the right path, but please add the functions such as:

- Customized font
- Foot note for e.g. GDPR disclaimer
- Hyperlinks
- Font adjustments i.e. bold, underline, italic

Copper Contributor

Thank You!

this is just missing, but that's lot: inseret link with replacement text

Copper Contributor

Looks great - thank you. Looking forward to seeing future enhancements with this.

Brass Contributor

Love to see these improvements! Is it possible for my organization to upload its brand color palettes and logo to a library of sorts so they are available for all users or does this need to be completed separately by each user and on each form? Thanks!

Copper Contributor

Thanks!  This is going to make a lot of people here happy!  Please keep up the good work!!

Copper Contributor

Where do you add your logo? And it would be great to have an option to add your own css in the future. Thanks!

Brass Contributor

I love all the updates.  However - every one of our branded colors, some of which are quite dark, get an error that

Color is too light. Try another.  Some tried examples are 0082AA, FF6A42, 929292, DC5034  Please adjust or advise.  Thank you.

@Kathy Siskoy Yep we have this challenge as well can we add #FFE309 & #FFDB00 (yellows) to the list.  Otherwise loving the updates

Brass Contributor

would like to be able to have background image that is full width/background of the title as a title banner instead of text

Brass Contributor

I can see an option to set colour

I can see an option to load a background image

But where is the option to use a logo?
I see that several people have asked since @Zhongzhong Li mentioned it and demo'd  it back on 5th May last year but no answer has been given.
Someone posted that it is under customise them with the + button but it isn't.customise.PNG

Brass Contributor

Answering my own comment – although this blog mentions themes - the logo is not set from themes but as a property of the title of the form.

Seriously, and this is a big issue, can we get the Privacy statement link editable so we can define it.

At present if I am signed into O365, even for your form, I get my companies Privacy statement... that's not right. It should be Microsofts.

If I am external user (not signed into O365) and I put our a form, they get Microsoft Privacy statement and it SHOULD be my companies.

GDRP - We need this fixed because of this massive reason. We don't want your privacy statement on our forms like wise I don't want my privacy statement

link when I answer your forms. This should be clearly defined within the scope of each form esp if the form is external.

Internal forms by default should get the Office 365 defined Privacy statement for that organisation.

Could we please get some priority on this.

Microsoft

Hi @Brad Hosking,

Thanks for the feedback. GDPR is a very important feature for us.

For your first question "At present if I am signed into O365, even for your form, I get my companies Privacy statement... that's not right. It should be Microsoft." There is a setting in admin portal for Privacy Statement, if your admin set the customized privacy URL for your company, then it will show up in all O365 products in the company.

For your second question "If I am external user (not signed into O365) and I put our a form, they get Microsoft Privacy statement and it SHOULD be my companies." If admin set the customized privacy URL, it should also show up for all forms created in your company. The behavior you have mentioned sounds like a bug. Could you share the form URL with us so we could troubleshoot?

Regards,

Zhongzhong

Copper Contributor

I have created the following Form which should allow you to test

If I load this in a private browsing session, I get Microsoft's Privacy Page

If I load this when I am logged into O365, I get APNIC's (my company's URL for Privacy)

If you log into your O365 environment (not Microsoft) you will get your company's privacy page (if you have set it in the O365 settings)

We need to have a way of being very specific please.

Microsoft

Hi @Brad Hosking,

Thanks for providing these information. We have identified it is a bug, and we are working on the quick fix now.

If your admin set the customized privacy URL, in forms runtime (fill-in page), it should always show the customized version, not matter it is an internal / external survey, anonymous / non anonymous, in private browsing session or not.

I will let you know when the fix is online.

Regards,

Zhongzhong

@Zhongzhong Li

Many thanks for the fast response.

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong LiWe have checked this today and we are now always getting the Microsoft Privacy statement logged in or not?

This still being worked on as it is really not right now.

Microsoft

Hi @Brad Hosking,

We target to fix the problem in code in today, and it will take few days to deploy to all production tenants.

Regards,

Zhongzhong

Brass Contributor

hi, have there been updates to the branding stuff? In Sharepoint now we get to see this for every form inside the "Forms webpart" on SharePoint Online. This is the case for several of our customers tenants!

FormsBugBackground.PNG

Microsoft

@Stefaan De Vreese, we are investigating the problem on SP webpart now.

Microsoft

Hi @Stefaan De Vreese,

We are working on the fix, it should get on Prod in next week.

Regards,

Zhongzhong

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong LiAny news on the Privacy statement? We are still seeing Microsoft's when we load our form in a private session (not logged into O365) ?

Thanks

Brad

Microsoft

@Brad Hosking, the fix is under rolling out. It is reach full Prod around the weekend.

Zhongzhong

Copper Contributor

Hey @Zhongzhong Li

Thanks for the improvement.

However i have an issue, i need to add new custom theme to the list so all user in my company could create Forms with this theme.

We want to create even several corporate themes for employees.

Please explain how could it be done?

Thanks in advance.

Microsoft

Hi @maxpaladii ,

Customized theme library is the feature in our backlog.

The workaround is, create a empty form with your company customized theme, share it out with "template URL".

Regards,

Zhongzhong

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong Li  I can now confirm that the Privacy policy issue is now fixed. Many thanks!

Copper Contributor

@Zhongzhong Li  I cannot add hyperlink at "Customize thank you message" feature as your image claims.

Microsoft

@Janissata , I will ask engineers to investigate.

Zhongzhong

Copper Contributor

Hello @Zhongzhong Li ,

Any news on when the bug where urls do not show up as hyperlink is fixed in the thank you message? I tried it today and still get the plain text www.google.com instead of the hyperlink

Thank you for your help

Iron Contributor

There is a styling bug in the Form title area. When you add an image above the title, it causes letters like g, j, p, q, and y to be cutoff.

I am seeing this in several different browsers, especially when the browser window is larger. It is not as prevalent in tablet or phone sized browser windows.

Brass Contributor

Great enhancements, meanwhile I have the same problem as Kevin McKeown mentioned above with the "cut off letters". Is there a way to solve it?

This is happening on all browsers IE/Edge/Firefox/Chrome.

Microsoft

@Kevin McKeown  and @Lucian_C, I have already asked engineers to check.

Copper Contributor

Is there a bug for background images now? Before the image would be fixed so when scrolling down the form would float over it. Now the image scrolls and cuts off. Behaves correct in the preview but not on the actual link. Tried multiple browsers and 2 laptops. This worked fine before.issue.JPG

Copper Contributor

It would be nice if we could create a branded template and enforce our users to use that template so all forms had a professional consistent look and feel to them within the organization. This would go a long way in our Office 365 Governance plan.

Any plans for this @Zhongzhong Li ?

Thanks,

Brock

Copper Contributor

Is there a way to import our own font styles?  e.g. we use Gotham, Bold and Roboto bold

Brass Contributor

Forms Pro massive lack of control over theming, branding, font, etc.. makes it unusable.

Brass Contributor

Came across this discussion thread when searching online about how to create a branded background image that can be deployed to all our staff. I assumed it was a fairly simple requirement, but can't find any resources which suggest it's possible. One reason we want to do this is that when you share a link to a form, the preview image is based on the background colour or image. So we'd like a background image which includes our logo.

In a post from Jan 2019, @Zhongzhong Li said "Customized theme library is the feature in our backlog. The workaround is, create a empty form with your company customized theme, share it out with "template URL"."

Is it still in the backlog? I'm afraid I don't understand the instructions about creating an empty form and sharing it.
