Azure AD simplifies the way you secure and manage your entire application estate - whether apps are on-premises, SaaS or hosted in your public cloud of choice. No matter where you are in your cloud and digital modernization journey, Azure AD helps you connect all your applications to achieve your business productivity and security goals.
Over the last few months, we announced a set of new capabilities to make it easy to move more apps to Azure AD and reinforce the security of your application ecosystem. In addition, as we continue to partner deeply with independent software vendors (ISVs), we keep adding more and more pre-integrated apps in our App gallery that support federated single sign-on (SSO) and/or automated user provisioning. Since our last update, we have added 108 new applications!
Read on for a recap of our latest app management announcements and check out some of the most popular apps that were recently published in our Azure AD app gallery.
New AD FS application activity report and more migration features
We understand that migrating applications can be an overwhelming project, given the complexity of your environment. To simplify your digital transformation, we have released a report to help you discover applications in Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) that are ready for migration to Azure AD. It assesses all AD FS applications for compatibility with Azure AD, checks for any issues, and gives step-by-step guidance on how to prepare individual applications for migration.
We have also released support for more regex-based claim transformation, multiple claim transformations, and the ability to emit a claim based on conditions for the user type and the membership of a group. To make it easy to configure single sign-on with Azure AD, we now have more than 6applications that support one-click single sign-on. We continue our efforts to cover the applications that are important to you.
New admin consent workflow
On average, organizations use 140 apps, and around 80% of employees use non-approved apps for work. End users sign in these applications with local accounts to bypass the administrator consent, mainly because they do not know how to request access permission. With the admin consent workflow, now in public preview, end-users have the ability to request their IT administrators to approve and consent to applications on their behalf directly from the application sign-in screen. This new feature allows IT administrators to have more control and visibility over application adoption and to reinforce application security without impacting employee’s productivity.
Newly available pre-integrated applications
