Two weeks ago we announced that Windows Azure Active Directory (AD) had reached general availability and is now ready for production use.
Since then many Azure customers who are also Office 365 customers or who created Windows Azure AD tenants during our developer preview have asked about how they can use their existing Windows Azure AD tenant with Windows Azure to start building directory integrated applications.
To help explain the options here, Matt Steele, the PM who is leading the work to build an integrated Azure identity model, created this video on that steps through how to
get started using Windows Azure with Azure AD
.
It covers the following scenarios:
1) First the straight forward one: I don’t have an Azure subscription or a directory, and I want to
sign up for Azure as an organization
2) I have an Azure subscription with my organizational account, and I need to use that account to sign-in to Azure
3) I have an Azure subscription with my Microsoft account, and I want to get a directory
4) I have an organizational account for another Microsoft service like Office 365 (or our developer preview), and I want to use it to sign up for a new Azure subscription
5) I have a directory and an Azure subscription, and I’d like to manage Azure with my organizational account
