Welcome to another Azure Content Spotlight! These articles are used to highlight items in Azure that could be more visible to the Azure community.

The Cloud Strategy post Microsoft’s Project Olympus delivers cloud hardware innovation at scale announces the completion of the design.  Project Olympus is Microsoft's open source cloud hardware design for the next generation of scale computing.  The design is made available through contributes to the Open Compute Project (OCP) and has been proven at scale in Microsoft Azure.

In addition, the post introduces Project Cerberus.  Project Cerberus builds upon Project Olympus to address cybersecurity using hardware.  The project aims to defend against the following threats:

    • Malicious insiders with administrative privilege or access to hardware

 

    • Hackers and malware that exploit bugs in the operating system, application, or hypervisor

 

    • Supply chain attacks (manufacturing, assembly, in-transit)

 

    • Compromised firmware binaries
