Welcome to another Azure Content Spotlight! These articles are used to highlight items in Azure that could be more visible to the Azure community.
This week's spotlight is on a series of posts on The New Stack covering the Azure Resource Manager (ARM). In the first post, Azure Resource Manager: The Secret Sauce of the Microsoft Cloud Strategy , context is provided as to where the ARM stems from and its significance in Azure offering:
The concept of Azure Resource Groups (RG) and Azure Resource Manager changed the game for Microsoft. It not only simplified the provisioning and deprovisioning of Azure resources but gave the company a common foundation for its public cloud and private cloud IaaS offerings.
The follow-on post, A Deeper Look into Microsoft’s Azure Resource Manager , provides a more technical description and contrast to the Azure Service Manager (ASM) . This is an excellent resource if you are new to Azure or if you need a bit more context around why there are two management portals.
