Microsoft Defender for Business setup process

Hello,

 

Newbie to M365 Defender for Business. Still in the early days of setting up our tenant before migration. I have been granted the Security Administrator role. However, getting the following message:

"You don't have the required permissions to start the setup process. Please ask your global admin for help."

Does the Global Admin have to do the initial setup process before I can get in and do anything?

Hi,

Yes afraid you need Global Administrator for the initial setup, after which you can use security administrator for configuration changes.
