I HATE this SOFTWARE - how do I get rid of it????

Copper Contributor

This defender software is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL PAIN IN MY you-know-what... I have tried to safe list domains - and STILL it continues to quarantine messages.

I NEED THESE EMAILS in a timely manner... and the usability of the interface SUCKS and I have to google every time to see if I have anything in quarantine that I need.

In addition - when I say "release" from my email message (sent from this RIDICULOUSLY INEFFECTIVE APP) - it doesn't do it. I have to google the address - and then go through the rigamarole to get to the message to send it to my inbox.

EVEN THEN - there is no guarantee of its release.

Today - I finally just had to download the message from the quarantine so I could get my attachment.

I'M SICK SICK SICK OF dealing with this on an almost daily basis... HOW DO YOU TURN THIS OFF????

@MagicMedia1964 Thank you for sharing your feedback about Microsoft Defender. It sounds like you’re disappointed with your experience. I’m not affiliated with Microsoft, but I’m a fellow user who likes to help the community. Did you manage to look at the Quarantine section on security.microsoft.com to see what is the root cause of these emails being quarantined?

@MagicMedia1964 - Hey there and sorry to hear you're not having the best experience with our product. - Firstly, are you the administrator of your organisation?

The reason I ask that question is sometimes things like authentication failures can cause issues like this which result in quaratined emails which the system detects as phish (beacuse, the sending infrastructure needs to fix something in order to send the messages in a compliant way) and there can be other similar root causes which would explain the behaviour you're seeing.

Looking forward to helping.

@Ben_Harris - yes, I'm the admin... I went through the different help articles and have tried to disable the quarantine function...and now it's just missing. Along with the domains that I'm having trouble with

@Ambarish RH - the screenshot you are showing is where I have been going to safe list and release the emails. I have one email with an attachment from my water company and I've asked for it to be released at least 6 times - and it's still sitting in quarantine. I was able to finally just download the attachment - which is what I needed... and I really needed it in a timely manner... my water company did what they needed to do for me very quickly...and then I had to go hunting for the email - just to make sure - before I called them back... incredibly frustrating

@MagicMedia1964 I think in which case it's best to start a support call via the portal, and get one of our support team to help you with the problem. - By all means share the ticket ID with myself privately when you have it.

Me too. I recently discovered that it's quarantining emails from sites I've requested to send me password reset links. And I hate having to open the daily emails to figure out what it's quarantined. This is a time and efficiency suck--just stick them in the clutter folder where I can deal with them myself.
