How to add a URL not to rewrite into the Standard preset security policy for Safe Link?

Copper Contributor

We have three safe links policy in Microsoft Defender for Office 365.

1. Standard Preset Security Policy (Scope to all users and excluded a group of members)

2. Custom Policy (Scope to a specific group)

3. Built-in protection (Microsoft)

In the custom policy, we are able to add urls not to rewrite by Safe Link.

But, how we can add urls not to rewrite by Safe Link on the Standard Preset Security Policy.

And, how we can apply Quarantine policy on Standard Preset Security Policies.

You can't change the detailed settings for neither preset security policies. The only thing you can change for these policies are the users, groups and domains the policies apply to. If you want more granular control, you will need to use Custom policy: Fundamentally, you can't modify the individual policy settings in the protection profiles. This is explained here. I hope this helps.

In my view, Preset is for customers who do not have the time or knowledge to set up proper policies, and both Preset and Built-in (default) leave the tenant very much at the mercy of whatever Microsoft thinks is best. If you want full control, go custom for all of your accepted domains. That does mean you also inherit the responsibility of ensuring your custom policies implement any changes in the service.
