What if there is no connectivity for a while? Is data cached?

Brass Contributor

So when a sensor is not reporting to the MDI service, you will get a notification. When the connection is restored, the sensor state is shown as Healthy.
But, was the data cached? Will it be sent to MDI later on? What is the outage was prolonged - any chance of data missing? (For example, our eventlog rotates within a day)

Solution

@AndrePKI The in memory buffers can hold very little amount of data.
for a busy DC it will help for a connection loss of a few seconds probably, in a small lab it might hold a few minutes, but not likely in a real world scenario. anything beyond that is dropped.
