Portal access to create new Defender for Identity instance

Copper Contributor

Hi all,

I have been trying to create a new Defender for Identity instance for a client, by going to portal.atp.azure.com, but get the "HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long" as described in this current active incident. https://health.atp.azure.com/incidents/71bs265q1x6d

Is there any other way to setup a new instance, or do we have to wait until the portal access is fixed?

Thanks,

Solution
was able to access using the original URL domain.atp.azure.com

@viniciuscarmo many thanks Vinicius, I can access via <domain>.atp.azure.com

I wasn't asked to create an instance as in the docs, it just want straight into an identity instance.

Many thanks again.

@WingLam

You should be able to access and create the instance in https://security.microsoft.com, in the Settings menu -> Identities (or directly at https://security.microsoft.com/settings/identities).

Thanks Martin, I do remember going into https://security.microsoft.com/settings/identities, and seeing the Defender for Identity settings in there.
I think where I got confused was that at no stage was I asked to "create an instance" (as in says in the docs), it seems the instance was automatically created.
