Defender for Identity without DomainController

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I am considering testing / activating ATP. However, we don't have a domain controller. All users are managed through the AAD. My colleagues only visit customers with notebooks, which is why we don't have a local network. At Microsoft Defender for Identity / ATP I read that a sensor needs to be installed on the DC. Is that why the product is not the right one for us? Is there an alternative here? But I would like to protect all of our notebooks a little more and manage them centrally.

best regards
Andre

@agrosch Yes, Defender for Identity is applicable only to Domain Controllers.

In case you need to secure your Notebooks, you can onboard them on Intune and can create security policies as well as centrally manage them.
