Network protection / Defender SmartScreen / Missing DNS Filtering

It seems that the Microsoft features are utilizing "URL filtering" to protect the endpoints, -wouldn't it be an option for Microsoft to also add DNS filtering and thereby prevent any type of communication, -not only HTTP(s), -with domains that host phishing scams, exploits, and other malicious content

Exactly my question as well. - Subscribed to this post for updates.
I agree, full on DNS filtering would be great to allow full blocking of a centralized list of malicious domains for all protocols not just http(s).
yes this would be a great feature, rather than having to add a 3d party product to devices to do this
