Microsoft Defender for Endpoint - Windows Endpoints

Copper Contributor

Hi Team,

I have few queries in regards to the Microsoft Defender Endpoint.

- I do not see Virus and Threat Protection icon in the Windows Security. I am assuming the Windows console can be kept hidden from users., so is there a way that an admin can run a malware (Full Scan ) scan on user's endpoint using command line or some other way.

- In case if a scan run using command line, how to get a statistics of the scan.

Are these logs present in some folder that can be viewed ?

OS - Windows 10

You can look in the Windows Defender\Operational event log, or use Get-MPThreatDetection. Depending on what you mean by 'statistics of the scan.'
Statistics would be something similar to number of files scanned, not scanned, malware detected etc.
