Device Security blocked piddrv64.sys during Intel graphics driver installation

Copper Contributor

When installing the latest graphics driver version 31.0.101.4369 for Intel Iris Xe Graphics (gfx_win_101.4369.exe) the attack surface reduction component of Windows Device Security blocked the file "Resources\Extras\piddrv64.sys" according to the rule "Block abuse of in-the-wild exploited vulnerable signed drivers". It seems the file is on the Microsoft block list of dangerous signed drivers.

According to file location it is related to extra features and not a core component of the driver.

Any suggestions for this issue? System is HP ZBook Firefly 14 Inch G8, Windows 11 22H2, connected to enterprise AD domain.

I'm seeing the same with the latest Intel XE driver 101.4369, did you resolve or get anywhere?

I created support request to Intel https://supporttickets.intel.com/s/supportrequest

Probably helps if more people do that so they don't think that the issue is only with my laptop.
