Device list in ATP Defender Security Center

Brass Contributor

Hi,

Recently we started evaluation of ATP Defender for Endpoints. So far we managed to onboard dozens of users both MacOS and Windows devices using either local script or deploy via MDM.

However, recently I have noticed that in Device list there are list of devices from our environment but those devices haven't been onboarded nor ATP enabled or for MacOS agent installed with various status messages like Insufficient information for Windows devices or Can be onboarded for Mac devices. Does anybody have any idea what could cause this or had similar case?

Thank you.

Regards,

Davor

Hi Davor,

this is part of the new feature "Endpoint discovery". You can read more about it in the following article: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-defender-for-endpoint/endpoint-discovery-navigating...

The article above describes how the feature works, what's the diference between "Basic" and "Advanced" mode, and how to disable this feature.
Hope this will help.

Best regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,

Thank you for the feedback.
Not that it helps but it actually provided me the answer to my question.
