Relationship to Well Architected Framework (WAF) Security Recommendations

What is the relationship between the MDC recommendations and the WAF recommendations? It would be helpful if the descriptions for the MDC recommendations explicitly stated that they are items from the WAF

The relationship is that both use Azure Security Benchmark as their foundation.
