Repairing Office; suggest don't !

Excel had been doing a couple of odd (annoying) things and so I thought 'repair'.  Went to control panel / programs & features and selected Office and repair.  Boom!  After not very long Windows reported that  (AFAIR) it couldn't finish the job and gave up. Guess what all Office progs are gone.  Reboot didn't help.  Had to get the installer and start again.  A quick run of Excel shows it works with some addin(s) still there. Outlook is a different thing though, seems to have lost most of my feeds, etc but fortunately not my main email.  What a load of hassle Microsoft, and just because an advertised tool broke.  Not impressed.
