Outlook email 365 password window popup

Copper Contributor

Hi

I installed Office 365 outlook and we have switched to exchange for the emails

The old email account which we connected to microsoft emails was an IMAP account

The new one is exchange.

I do not want to delete the IMAP account because I had some other folders under that account.

When I open up outlook, the imap account because its no longer working, a message keeps popping up asking for username and password. If I try and remove the email account, the message that pops up says Careful if you remove this account its offline cached content will be deleted. I only want to stop the password box from popping up.

Thanks

See if below steps can help:

1. Start Outlook
2. Choose File | Account Settings | Account Settings
3. Select your Email account
4. Click the Change button
5. Click the More Settings button
6. Select the Security tab
7. Deselect the "Always prompt for logon credentials" check box
8. Click OK
9. OK
10. Choose Close
11. Restart Outlook.

Hi, there is no security tab on the IMAP account. There is a security tab on the Exchange account but the Always prompt for login credentials is already unticked.
